I read some threads on the ITH Forums that where talking about ITHers joining an IRC channel and talking about their tourney progress.
I decided to try it out last night and I have to say, it was pretty cool. I will definitely go back on the channel. I can imagine the value of it when you get into the late stage of a big tourney and need some advice on stuff you are not familiar with.
For my part it would probably be deal making. I never was deep enough in a tourney to need that skill, but from a couple of thread I read at ITH I can understand why it can be a valuable skill to have.
I finished first once in a freeroll tourney with 2 499 bandits, and I won a whooping 35$ so there was no need to do some deal making at the final table.
As far as poker goes, I only played a SNG and a couple of low buy-in tourneys last night. I did not cash in any of them, but I was not playing my best. I just wanted to play and have some fun with no pressure to make money.
