6 tabling and recap of what I have been doing.

Recently, I have been playing 6 tables on PokerStars and I have to say that I am quite pleased with myself. I am running good and not just because of cards. I am playing better poker. I rely more on my poker instinct since I don’t have a lot of time to analyze thoroughly each hand and it seems my instinct is spot on.

When I started playing 6 tables, I started real nitty (VPIP 18%) and today I tried a session (1894 hands) playing LAG. I have success in both style. I think I will continue mixing my game like that sometimes nitty sometimes LAG. It makes it more fun and I guess my opponents will have a harder time reading me.

I am pretty happy to say that my tilt control problem is pretty much gone. Pie’s book (The Poker Mindset – Ian Taylor) helped a lot and so did some videos of Jared from Stoxpoker.

Speaking of books… I have some reading to do. I just bought 2 books: Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time, Volume 1 and Every Hand Revealed – Gus Hansen. I have started both books but I am now concentrating (and really enjoying) Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time, Volume 1 which is a compendium of hands played by three professional poker players – PearJammer, Rizen and Apestyles. I am just at the beginning of the book – in the PearlJammer section and it’s just awesome.

I hope to play some tournaments later this year. I still suck at them. I played a 180 man SNG on PokerStars about a week ago. At the final table, I had the chip lead covering 3 times the runner up. The other 4 opponents were all short stacks. I was expecting at the very minimum 2nd position – even if the runner up in chips busted all the other players, I would still have the chip lead.

I finished 6th. Not because of suckouts, no one sucked out on me. I just played bad – actually I played great the whole tournament, except the last 7 minutes). I think I got impatient and lost all my chips to the runner up…

In any case, reading the book should help me, I hope. In the mean time, I’ll try to keep crushing the cash games.

WRP-Cards 1.5 released

Version 1.5
Modified the Ad.gif and Ad_e.gif. Some spam/ad filter where filtering this image out (Firefox AdBlock Plus is one of them). I guess it’s because the filter reads Ad.gif and Ad_e.gif as an ad and it’s being filtered out.
I patched it non elegantly, I changed the Ad.gif and Ad_e.gif to xyz.gif and xyz_e.gif. It’s not pretty, but it works…
I should have rolled out that patch a while ago…

Thanks Nside for tinkering with it and letting me know what was happening.

Yo! Long time no talk…

I have been out of poker for a while… Well, really I was out of the blogging/foruming (is that a word ? – probably not but I’ll just invent it :) ).

I played some poker in the past 4 months. But really what I did the most was study a lot of Stoxpoker videos. They have great stuff over there, I just renewed for another 12 months (which is really 15 months because of the promotion) and with the Stoxpoker points, I bought an extra 3 months for a total of 18 months and I also bought the IdleMiner software for Full Tilt Poker.

So right now, my laptop is datamining 18 tables of Full Tilt Poker. I am still playing at PokerStars but I may be switching to Full Tilt Poker in the near futur because of Rakeback.

PokerStars points are a great value, but I think I will prefer cold cash. I would like to move up in limit and getting some Rakeback $$ will help me get there. I am over bankrolled for the limit I play, but in order for me to move up in limit and not play scare poker, I have to be over bankrolled :">.
.
BTW my bankroll is back to a healthy 4k. Still playing NL 50$ (some tables of 100 mixed in). One big change i made is that I am now playing 6 tables instead of 4. I have not notice any drop in my win rate, but I am keeping a look on it.
