Tilt
I watched a Stoxpoker video with Nick Grudzien a few days ago. He always has good stuff but this time he said he would do a monologue about why he his a winning player.
This is what I remmember from the monologue (I thought there was 5 points but I am forgetting one and I don’t have my notes – yes I take notes when I watch a video).
1) I never tilt.
2) I table select accros limits and accros sites.
3) I study the game outside of the tables.
4) I think am a better poker player than the others.
I am quoting from memory here, but it doesn’t really mater, because it is point #1 that really hit me. I know and everybody knows that you should never tilt (well maybe not Phil Helmuth). But the way Nick said it. It was like a statement, not like something he his trying achieve. The way he said it really hit me and made me think.
I am still trying not to tilt and I think that is the biggest leak in my game right now. I am trying not to tilt, so I still tilt. The last post proves it. Since I viewed that video (beginning of the month) I have been real careful not to tilt (yes it is still trying it’s not a “fait accompli” … for now
) and the results have been there:

Obviously I am running good, when I am running good I don’t tilt, when I don’t tilt I make money. Hopefully I can remain tilt free for a while.
